BCA Honors Frederick Mali with 2009 President's Award.
Each year the President of the Billiard Congress of America Board of Directors recognizes an outstanding individual who has made significant contributions to the billiard industry with the presentation of the BCA President's Award. This year the BCA Board President has chosen to recognize Fredirick Mali. Mali, who passed away at the age of 76 in 2007, was the president and CEO of The Henry W.T,.. Mali & Co., Inc. (Mali Cloth), the oldest continuosly family-run company in New York City, founded in 1826. [ more ]
BCA Announces International Billiard & Home Recreational Expo Date Change
At the BCA Board of Directors meeting in September, the Board unanimously voted to change the date of their 2010International Billiard & Home Recreation Expoto Wedensday, July 14 through Friday, July 16, 2010. There have been no changes to the location, exhibit halls or floor plans of the Expo. [ more]
BCA Consolidates Operations to Colorado Headquarters
The BCA announced it will consolidate all business operations at its headquarters in Broomfield, Colorado. The move comes as the association continues to look at ways to improve its operating efficiencies in this challeging economy. [ more ]
BCA Returns to Vegas for Successful 2009 Expo
The 2009 edition of the Billiard Congress of America's (BCA) International Billiard & Home Recreation Expo came to a successful conclusion. The event, produced by the BCA, was held at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, June 25-27, 2009. Buyer attendance for the three-day event was 1,120. The number of companies exhibiting at the event was 116, while the total number of booths was 412. [ more ]
BCA Names Ivan Lee of Iwan Simonis 2009-2010 Board Chairman
During its general membership meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, on June 24, 2009, the Billiard Congress of America (BCA) announced the results of the 2009-2010 Board of Directors elections. In follow-up elections, Ivan Lee (Iwan Simonis, Inc.) accepted a one-year term as BCA Board chairman, as did each of the remaining seated officers: First Vice Chairman Renee Lyle (American Poolplayers Association); Second Vice Chairman Kathy Vegh (Danny Vegh's Billiards & Home); Secretary Eric Weber (CueStix International); and Treasurer Karim Belhaj (Predator Group). Johnny Archer, Allison Fisher Gain BCA Hall of Fame Election
Johnny Archer and Allison Fisher, the most dominant male and female pool players of the past 15 years, have been elected for induction into the Billiard Congress of America (BCA) Hall of Fame in voting conducted by the United States Billiard Media Association (USBMA). Archer, 40, and Fisher, 41, will be honored at the BCA International Billiard & Home Recreation Expo in Las Vegas, June 23, and will be formally inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame on Oct. 22 during ceremonies at the Chesapeake Marriott in Chesapeake, Va.
